ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY

  • Contestants demonstrate knowledge of analog and digital circuitry;

  • ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits;

  • ability to construct and test experimental circuits; and

  • ability to design and select circuit components.

All aspects of the competition test contestants’ abilities to use and calibrate electronic equipment, record and organize data, and demonstrate proper safety practices.

ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY

  • Teams are judged on efficiency, speed and teamwork.

  • Teams set up and demonstrate operation of a robotic work cell from a word problem.

  • Contestants also utilize and program a Siemens LOGO PLC as part of the contest and are required to create a flow chart and sequence of operation.
